Vichy…: …is a lab that produces acne products which have mixed reviews by customers. If not, consult with fp or dermatologist, who may prescribe oral antibiotics or stronger meds for severe cases.

None of them: Nearly every new acne patient i see has tried clearasil (benzoyl peroxide) or Proactiv (or both) without success. I understand that i'm only seeing the people who failed on these products, but there are so many, i can't imagine that they work very often. In the long run you will save a lot of money by letting a dermatologist give you prescription meds, rather than wasting your money on otc products that don't work.

No: It doesn't do that, or at least it's not a reported side effect. There is almost no way to decrease the size of your penis once it's grown.

Acne cyst: Both modalities are helpful. The warm compresses will soften up the cysts and the medication will become more penetrable

No: Most routine anti-acne medications contain antibiotics, sebostatics, or keratolytics.  If indicated, a woman may benefit from systemic oral contraceptive pills (hormones) to treat inflammatory acne associated with menstrual irregularity.

Minocycline: Minocycline (dynacin) 50 mg daily is a safe dose to use while taking synthroid. No interaction has been found between synthroid and tetracyclines. Minocycline in combination with a topical (benzoyl peroxide+clindamycin) gel would work well. Good skin care routine and adequate hydration also help.

Accepted Answer

No: A variant on the molecule supposedly with fewer side effects / better safety profile was under development a few years ago but was abandoned. For deep cystic acne, Isotretinoin remains by far the best choice, though antibiotics and topical retinoic acid preparations work well for milder cases.

There are many!: Most dermatologists agree that the most important acne medication is a retinoid or retinol. There are now prescription topicals which combine 2 different medications into one tube or pump to make it easy for the patient. Sometimes, patients may need a short course of antibiotics, or in the case of adult female acne, spironolactone works very well and is safe for long-term use if needed.
