: You might have a yeast infection, which is a possible side effect of metronidazole gel. Or you also have an STD, since STDs are more common in women with BV. Return to your doctor for further examination and testing. Good luck.

Yes: Metronidazole, medication for bacterial vaginitis, often goes into the vagina as a clear gel but may last in the vagina for days.  It may often turn white and chunky.  If this new discharge is associated with worsening of symptoms, itching or burning, follow up with doctor.

D/C: Emergency contraception symptoms can include spotting or bleeding, changes in menstrual flow or your period may be late or early.  It can also lead to nausea, abdominal pain, breast tenderness, dizziness. Blood that is old can look brown.

You also need difluc: Bv is often combined with moniliasis
