Professional fees: Fees vary, so you need to be treated by the doctor who you feel will do the best job...fees vary from office to office, and will depend on location as well as complexity of the case. The dentist who is going to actually examine you and treat you will give you the fee that you will pay.

Unknown: Your dentist felt that the Vivera retainers were best for your specific treatment, but you feel otherwise. You'll have to discuss your desires with them. If it is agreed that a fixed lingual wire will work equally as well for your post treatment retention, then I'm sure it can be placed for a nominal fee.

: Issues should be evaluated by a specialist Orthodontist. An actual examination is in order, not just a site-unseen opinion. If teeth and jaws are not properly aligned it can interfere with lip posture. Jaw popping indicates disc out of position. Lips apart when sleeping is normal, especially if overweight. But these issues are not necessarily attributed to your treatment (don't blame the gadget).

Clear aligners: Moderately (average 41%) as effective as traditional braces (average 90%+), in the hands of a trained skilled orthodontic specialist (less so in hands of generalist) at correcting malocclusion.  Best advice:  see orthodontic specialist for discussion of what will work best for you.
