If tap water in: your area has not been tested and found to be clean - then you may wish to clean neti pot with distilled water as well.

Bacterial infections: If your neti pot has not been cleaned for some time. Please clean it. The same bacteria found in your nose can be found on the neti pot but in higher quantities if not cleaned. MRSA can be found on the tips of the neti pot if the person has an undiagnosed MRSA infection. Never share neti pots. Clean as much as possible.

hello, i used a neti pot last night with filtered water (purified) from a water cooler. i cleaned the neti pot with warm tap water but then rinsed it with the purified water once. worried about pam, do you think it can be in a water cooler?

Neti Pot Cleaning: I would follow the directions that came with your neti pot (dish washing liquid, isopropyl alcohol/white vinegar, microwaving).  You can find them online if you no longer have them.  The bleach may damage the plastic of the neti pot, or the residue could harm your sinuses.  I would stick to what the company suggests.

im out of shape, my hr got up to 186 on a 2 mile jog, took about 12 minutes to go back down to  90 is this bad? i have pots ...clean echos/stress test

How did you feel?: How do you feel during these jogs?  Your maximal predicted heart rate is 192 and the combination of being "out of shape", POTS and other factors might certainly contribute to the delay in your heart rate decline after exercise.  This may improve as you become better conditioned.  For many people with POTS at your age, the tachycardia improves over time.  Follow your progress with your doctor!

Neti pop issues: You will be fine  -   no the neti pot solution likely drained down your throat without you knowing it or went into the other sinus.   Unless you had a nasal fracture into the bottom of the skull -  your skull forms a barrier from  anything getting into the brain.    You should be fine   Good luck

Saline rinse: In general, you should always boil water or use distilled  for any nasal saline rinse. The possibility that you could have contaminated water to induce a central nervous system amoebiasis is extremely unlikely. Tap water is chlorinated and bacterial or protozoal infection is rare.

To my mind treatment would be development of generalized body muscle tone by means of initially gentle and later more progressively increased and stressful exercises; via yoga and/or tai chi, and later strength training with weights.
