i dont usually smoke meth & my due date is may 18th & so that would make me about 7 and a half to 8 months pregnant, i only smoked it one day since the beginning of this month, if i stop now will it show up in my babies system?

: There may be detectable amounts and this may be determined by testing once the baby is born. This is important information to share with your OB specialist and Pediatrician. Withdrawal symptoms include hypoglycemia and jitteriness and the Pediatrician will examine the baby and assess these and other signs/symptoms. Avoid secondhand smoke exposure and please follow up with your OB specialist.

Depends: Medications and drugs are excreted by half-lives. The half-life is how long it takes to get half of the substance out of your system. Methamphetamine has a half-life that varies between 10 and 30 hours. So how long it stays in your system depends upon how much you use. As far as how long it can be detected in your system, this depends upon the sensitivity of the method used.

Only several days: Even in very heavy long-term users, methamphetamine and its metabolites are relatively short-acting, and will give positive urine drug test for 3-4 days at most. False positives for amphetamines, however, are very common, and may show up + with virtually any medication used for colds - sudafed, ephedrine, (ephedrine sulfate) phenylephrine and others. Confirmatory tests, however, should be negative.

No: I do hope that your experimenting with meth is history.  I'm basing my answer on a pretty good understanding of human physiology, although of course nobody's going to do an experiment to test it. Perhaps this is why others may have waffled.

: Drug exposure testing is not routine with newborns, but if I have reason to look I can fine evidence of any exposure after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. If you don't expose baby again and don't draw the attention of the delivery team, there is unlikely to be a problem. If you end up on aa Family Services watch list, the staff may be required to test. There is no way to flush the babies' system

Probably not: The tests look for certain drugs and their major metabolite's. It probably takes more than 3 days to clear out of your system. Tell the truth if they ask. Remember it was the cover up that did them in, not the act itself.
