Meralgia Paresthetic: This might be meralgia paresthetica especially if the numbness is also on the side of the thigh.  You can ask your physician

was weeding & kneeling for 15 minutes. when i stood up, can't bear weight on left knee w/out severe front knee pain. doesn't hurt when sitting. tips?

Conservative care : Could be an injury to the soft tissue structures within the knee, possibly the meniscus.  I would treat with conservative care: rest, ice, and perhaps Aleve (naproxen) or similar product.  Hopefully it will resolve in short order.

Left Side Pain: Have you had your back checked?  All this sounds like it may stem from the nerves from the spine.  I would see an orthopod spine specialists or neurologist.

i have left knee pain. at the top of my shin/sometimes radiating into my actual knee. its noticeable the most when putting weight in my leg, or walking up stairs. i started noticing it about 6 months ago and it flared up recently. what could this be?

Shin splints: Especially if you are a runner or run during athletics, this may be shin splints or a stress fracture. It also may be tendinitis (swelling of the tendon below your knee). If your knee gives out on you, or the pain is persistent, you should contact your doctor. Meanwhile rest, icing, and elevation may help. Ibuprofen may also help with the swelling if you have no medical contraindication.

Cartilage/ligament: This could possibly be a either a meniscal (cartilage) injury or a torn ligament.  Any time one describes a knee "giving out" it sounds like a possible ligament injury, although with a ligament injury most likely you would have known there was an injury.  A meniscal tear can be tricky and a possibility.  Any time knee pain more than 2-3 weeks despite rest and not improving consider ortho visit.

Hamstring tightness: The location you described is that of your hamstring tendon. If it is tight, when you try to stretch it, it will burn and hurt. Continue to GENTLY stretch it, and eventually it will loosen up and the pain will fade. Hope this helps!

I'm : I'm sorry to hear that you are having such issues with your knee.  Has your doctor looked into other causes?  Some lower back problems can cause referred symptoms in the knee.  The sensitivity to touch would worry me about a "pinched nerve".. I also routinely see patients who complain about knee pain who actually have a hip problem..  You didn't mention any injury to your knee, however some people develop a condition called rsd (reflex sympathetic dystrophy) after apparent minor injuries which result in significant pain and senstivity of the sking.  These are just a few things i would discuss with your doctor.
