Yes: Yes you can continue taking your daily oral antihistamine. It has little effects on acute sinusitis. It works at the beginning when you start to have very mild allergy symptoms.

Herpes simplex: It is unlikely that the herpetic outbreak was a cause of sinus infection, but rather that any form of infection may trigger recurrences of herpetic lesions. The treatment of your sinusitis might benefit from use of saline irrigation with a Neti-pot, decongestants, and a steroid nasal spray. If these do not work you need to see an ENT doctor as soon as feasible. Good luck.

hi i'm currently taking 150 mgs of methadone daily .. is it ok to take loratadine also my dr gave it to me for my allergies and sinus infection  ?

Sinus: Probably a side effect of the drug. Id stop it. That drug is used for allergies not sinus infection. If you have no fever might be allergies or chronic sinusitis. Although you can try a sinus rinse you should see an ENT to fully evaluate it

Yes, but...: The over-the-counter decongestant nasal sprays will do a much better job of opening up the sinuses to relieve the pressure much faster than the decongestant tablets. Keep rinsing your nose with nasal saline spray often, to keep the thick secretions from plugging the sinuses - you'll recover much more quickly if you keep the sinuses open and draining.

None of these: These medications are antihistamines which counter the affects of allergies.  They are not antibiotics which are typically prescribed for sinus infections.  Decongestants and sinus rinses may help with the symptoms associated with the sinus infection, but these antihistamine medications, in my experience, do little for this condition.

i have a sinus infection which makes my head and ears full.  usually take claritin d 12 hour - it helps but quit and tried mucinex.  not good. help,?

Sinusitis: if it has been over 7-10 days you may need antibiotics. you can also try afrin but do not use longer than 3 days. you can also try a nasal steroid like nasonex which are available over the counter now. lastly, try nasal saline rinses and warm sinus compresses.

how long before post nasal drip is considered sinus infection? was not sick prior to. started suddenly. very thick cannot cough out. i literally have to use my fingers to remove it from my throat. tried claritin, saline, flonase. been 10 days now?

: It is not the duration of post nasal drip that determines infection because it may just mean allergies that is not adequately managed. Increase you warm fluid intake may help loosen and ease removing secretions. If you have fever you may want to be evaluated. You may want to add environmental management also to the medication you are taking by limiting dust exposure and that includes pet dust.
