Claritin-D: Claritin (loratadine)-d 12 hour can be taken twice daily chronically but it can have side effects.  Taking a decongestant can lead to hypertension or insomnia.  I would recommend trying claritin-d in the morning and just standard Claritin (loratadine) at night.  This would give you the best treatment with minimal side effects.

No: But caution if  you become  drowsy, don't drive, and if you have high blood pressure and use claritin-d

Not recommended: both have decongestants in them so I would not.  Claritin (loratadine) D is an antihistamine and decongestant combined, NyQuil typically has decongestants and cough suppressants.

Never: It's never safe to get drunk regardless. However I'd doubt taking the Clarin D would affect your drunkenness one way or another.

i have a sinus infection which makes my head and ears full.  usually take claritin d 12 hour - it helps but quit and tried mucinex.  not good. help,?

Sinusitis: if it has been over 7-10 days you may need antibiotics. you can also try afrin but do not use longer than 3 days. you can also try a nasal steroid like nasonex which are available over the counter now. lastly, try nasal saline rinses and warm sinus compresses.

have taken zyrtec for over a year. recently added a claritin d 12 hour. got horrible dry mouth. stopped both about 40 hours ago. noticed having to strain really hard to urinate about 12 hr ago. is this a side effect too?

: Antihistamines and decongestants can reduce urine formation and mouth mucus. I would use one or the other of these products but not both. Within a couple days off both, your system should return to baseline. If not discuss this with your doc.

Unlikely: You've had a double dose of the decongestant which can keep you from sleeping well, increase your heart rate and increase your blood pressure. The double dose of Claritin is unlikely to cause you any issues in the next 12 hours. I do not think you need any immediate medical attention unless you develop any concerning symptoms.
