: You can stop loratadine today and start fexofenadine tomorrow. You should not use them in combination, such as using loratadine along with certirizine or fexofenadine or benadryl or hydroxyzine at the same time.

Not likely: At 4 months you should not be giving your child allergy meds. Take him to the pediatrician and see what is going on.

Cetirizine (Zyrtec): Zyrtec 10 mg contains 5 mg of xyzal (levocetirizine) and 5 mg of an inactive mirror-image of xyzal (levocetirizine). If xyzal (levocetirizine) doesn't make you gain weight neither will zyrtec.

All of them : Is unlikely any of these would have an adverse event on your kidney stones.  Your physician can clearly help you with this decision

No withdrawal: No withdrawal is expected with Claritin (loratadine).  
Claritin (loratadine)-D can cause nervousness while taking it but this appears not to be the case.

Yes: As long as you are aware of possible side effects of Zyrtec (cetirizine) and that these may be magnified after taking the loratidine, you might find it works faster.  If otc antihistamines are not adequately controlling your allergy symptoms, or you need to use them daily to do so, then see an Allergist for an evaluation.  There are treatment strategies to bring lasting relief!

Morning: Claritin (loratadine) is a once daily, non-sedating antihistamine.  Though it is advertised to last 24 hours, it generally lasts about 17 or 18 hours.  Thus, to get "all day" relief, it is best taken in the morning.

See below: There is no age restriction. Claritin (loratadine) d, with psuedafed, does have a restriction. And needs to be purchased directly from the pharmacy. You have to have a legal id to purchase.

Accepted Answer

Not really: The claritin-d that is designed for dosing every 12 hours is related to the "d" decongestant pseuodoephedrine 120 mg.  A higher dose is more likely to cause side effects.   The 5 mg of Claritin (loratadine) could certainly be taken sooner as the usual dose of Claritin (loratadine) for &gt;12 years old is 10 mg once a day.
