Calcium: It may seem strange to take calcium to help prevent kidney stone, but this can be one of the beneficial measures to take to prevent stones.  Most kidney stones are calcium oxylate. If you take oral calcium, the calcium binds with oxylate in the GI tract and is eliminated through the intestine.  Oxylate that is not bound in the GI tract enters the blood stream and can end up in the kidney.

Too much likely: It is likely too much Vitamin D which can be toxic.  Stop the cod liver oil and stay on the citracal calcium with D3.

How is her diet?: U r absolutely right about the new controversy regarding calcium supplements and cardiac risk, but it does not say anything about calcium in diet/foods. So, consuming calcium rich foods will reduce need to take supplement. Also, vitamin use can improve absorption of calcium. But, she should check with her doc for a possible scan to how her done is at this time, then treatment. Good luck.

: Maintaining certain levels of thyroid function is extremely important for a healthy pregnancy &amp; baby and I think a thyroidologist or endocrinologist has to work closely with your gynecologist/obstetrician for best care. Breast discomfort &amp; bloating are caused by fluctuations in your hormones and your gynecologist can address that.
