Not very effective.: Quinolones, like ciprofloxacin, are not first line treatments for chlamydia. The effectiveness of Cipro in particular is questionable. Other quinolones are more effective, but require a full week of therapy and are more costly than the preferred agents, Doxycycline or azithromycin. Gonorrhea, usually treated at the same time, is now showing resistance to quinolones, making them less attractive.

i taken one time cipro (ciprofloxacin) dose for chlamydia which has caused epididymitis. when will it go back to normal? could it be something else?

MisinformtIon?: This doesn't compute. Ciprofloxacin does not treat chlamydia. Maybe you misunderstood what antibiotic was prescribed -- maybe azithromycin? But a single dose is not usually adequate for epididymitis. If under a doctor's care, check back with him or her; or maybe second option from an infectious diseases or STD specialist. If you're treating yourself, find a doctor ASAP for proper care. Good luck.

Re-infection: Did your partner and any other partners get treated too. It is possible that someone didn't get treated or did get treated but stopped taking the medicine when they felt better and didn't finish all of the medicine. Get in and get retested. Good luck.

i took 2 tablets of zithromax each is 500g at once together with 1 tablet of cipro 500, to cure both gonnorea and chlamydia, now it's the second day after treatment and still no affect at all, i'm still the same i'm not feeling better, white and gree

See below: Recommended first-line treatment for GC/Chlamydia urethritis is either Azithromycin 1 gm (which you received) or Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily x 7 days. Though symptoms often show improvement within 24-48 hrs, it can sometimes take several days longer, so I would recommend waiting a few more days. There is an ~10-20% failure or recurrence rate. If symptoms still present after 7 days, re-evaluate.

Abstain sexual acti,:  Avoid sexual encounter until you finish recommended treatment.  Your partner should be treated properly as well!

STD DAYS TILL BETTER: This depends on where you live and the antibiotics used.  Some parts of world are developing drug resistant strains. Discuss with team.

Doubt epididymitis: Epididymitis doesn&#x27;t persist for 2 months. It causes enlargement and tenderness of a single testicle, almost never both; and doesn&#x27;t cause ongoing testicular pain for this long. So I doubt you have epididymitis. Non-response to those antibiotics is strong evidence you have no infection of any kind. Suspect chronic pelvic pain syndrome (see excellent Wikipedia article). Nothing harmful! Good luck.

do you experience discharge in the middle of treatment for gonorrhea and chlamydia? i just finished azithromycin and cipro and i'm now having discharge but before i actually did not have discharge. is this meds clearing the body?

A few reasons: It could be the infections but antibiotics can also make you susceptible to getting a yeast infection.  Mention it to the treating doctor - Also if you were treated but your partner was not, one can be easily reinfected

Doubt prostatitis: No STD or any infection that might cause prostatitis is possible from such contact. I'm guessing your symptoms are some combination of urinary urgency, bladder discomfort, and/or testicular or low abdominal pain. Most men with such symptoms have genitally focused anxiety--pain from pevlic muscle tension not prostate. That all the antibiotics didn't help is very strong evidence against infection.

Probably: Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is not the drug of choice for chlamydia. However, if there is a positive test and if you have taken Cipro (ciprofloxacin) already, you may be cured.  The options would be to treat a with another antibiotic anyway or repeat a test for chlamydia.
