i have been recently diagnosed with chronic mono. am i contagious to other people? i'm mostly concerned about giving it to my son who is 1.

Mono: Most of the population carry the virus for mono. Once you have the virus you continue to carry it. You are no more likely to pass it to him than anyone else. All the best.

will getting my tonsils removed improve my chronic mono symptoms?

No: The tonsils are swollen from mono but the virus is in your cells and can remain there for years. Having your tonsils removed will not reduce your chance of symptoms from chronic EBV

how long after someone has ebv are they contagious through kissing?  how about for people with "chronic mono" (regardless of how real that is)?

Epstein Barr virus: EBV probably is transmissible by saliva for only a few weeks after recovering from mononucleosis. "Chronic mono" is usually not actually mononucleosis and not caused by EBV (as your "regardless" comments suggests you already know), and therefore is not transmissible.

Chronic fatigue: You may have chronic fatigue syndrome. You were once exposed to the eb virus but studies have shown no relationship to the disesase.

Chronic Fatigue: Given that extensive labs, imaging, and all medical causes have been ruled out, you may want to try stimulants if you dont have a history of addictions. I have seen Provigil work well but again this would off label use, consult an expert.

Please get STAT eval: I'm sorry to hear this, but with blood clot in your leg, bruising fatigue and weight loss i'm very concerned that you could have leukemia. Please get follow up immediately. If you have not seen a hematologist or oncologist at a university or academic setting, you should.

Tonsillectomy : If you consistently get tonsil infections and have a persistent sore throat for over three months with tonsil stones, you should certainly consider tonsillectomy. You meet the insurance criteria for removal and tonsils often harbor bacteria that can cause chronic bodily symptoms. While there’s no guarantee the tonsillectomy will cure all your problems, it should certainly help considerably.

Unusual: Not usually. Chronic fatigue is a difficult thing to treat. The mainstays of treatment are mostly behavioral training, good sleep hygiene, eating well, and screening for coexisting conditions, both medical (like anemia), and psychiatric (like depression). If you do have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, pharmaceutical therapy usually doesn't work very well. It comes down to willpower and behavior change.

i've never had mono, but my doc did a test to check for the antibodies and  my ebna was 5.00 which was very high. does this mean i have chronic ebv?

Not at all: It means for were infected with ebv at some time in the past, like most of us.

mono 2 years ago. since then the lymph nodes under my jaw are always swollen. and i am pretty sure i have chronic tonsillitis. are they connected?

can be both: Mono can sometimes leave the neck nodes swollen for a long time. If indeed it is tonsillitis you will need antibiotics or your tonsils removed. You need to see an ENT specialist to be sure.
