No sex: Certainly your doctor told you that while being treated for chlamydia you need to abstain from sex right? While the primary antibiotics for treating chlamydia are not on the list of those known to affect OCP it is still highly recommended to use back-up birth control whenever on any antibiotics. Antibiotics known to affect OCP: rifampin, penicillins, bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) tetracycline,metronidazole,minocycline

No: Smoking weed does not stop antibiotics from working, but it can and does interfere with your immune response.  This means that although the antibiotics might effectively combat the chlamydia, your body may not do its internal cleanup operations (killing the rest of chlamydia, getting rid of their byproducts, etc) or protect you well from future infections.

i took my chlamydia antibiotics around 2:30 and ate lunch after that. i threw up about 40 minutes after. will my antibiotic still work or do i need to get more?

: Best ask your doctor or pharmacist. Most medications take 15-30  minutes to dissolve in your system, so after 40 minute you may or may not need another pill. What did you eat for lunch that could have caused you to vomit?

Which antibiotic: Some like clarithromycin can severely affect bc pills. Others less so. Too vague to answer. The treatment is usually not more than 7-10 days. Another way is to take a blood test to see if your bc levels are the same as before and if the medication has not affected the bc. Thats not really ever done.

: No. First, chlamydia doesn't take well to the oral cavity and throat; even oral sex carries almost no risk of oral infection. Second, the amount of fluids transferred in this fashion wouldn't be an issue even if you weren't on treatment. Finally, within a few hours of the first dose of treatment, chlamydia is unlikely to be transmitted. (Don't push your luck:  no sex until treatment done.)

Chlamydia test: Your doctor can do a repeat chlamydia test. This is a much better way of confirming successful treatment than a gram stain. I would ask the doctor about E. Faecalis culture. Find out exactly what was cultured and if treatment is warranted

What kind of test?: A DNA test would not be affected. If it was a culture, antibiotic treatment may produce a false negative.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

have genital herpes for 2 yrs now i was diagnosed with chlamydia on antibiotics by having these stds do i have a higher risk on getting a more serious std like hiv?

Accepted Answer

In a manner: Having one STD, like herpes, that causes skin lesions does put a person at greater risk of HIV, if exposed to the virus. You can protect yourself by practicing safe sex. See this site for guideline for safe sex.
