Chemical additives: Some chinese restaurants add msg, or monosodium glutamate, to enhance food flavors.  Not all restaurants do this, and some pride themselves in not doing so.  But many people are sensitive to msg and get not only stomach aches but headaches and worse.  Ask about these ingredients before you order.  You might even want to go to only restaurants who don't use msg!

Bland: It depends on the cause. If you are  actually talking about the stomach itself ,, bland would be my answer.  NO caffeine or pop or acid type products.  If you are talking about the 'stomach' as the abdomen in general . If you are having diarrhea or gaseous issues see your doctor for further advice for both situations.

Gallbladder: If you had an ultrasound that was normal you should follow this up with a hida scan. This is if the pain is in your upper abdomen.

Avoid it: Many people can't tolerate peppers. Some can take pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) or similar to ease the discomfort.

: Could be lots of things: food intolerance, gastritis, IBS. More information is needed to narrow it down. You need a full history, exam, labs, and colon cancer screening given your age. Booking an in person appointment is the appropriate next step.

Severe = Go to Dr!: If you have severe pain, then you should be seen now.   Typically severe pain needs to be evaluated in urgent care or the ER.

More info?: The first thing one thinks of is gallbladder, ulcers, gastritis when do you get pain?  What type? How long does it last? Anything make it better?  Anything make it worse?  Does food affect the pain?  Have you had any surgery ? How long has it been there?  Have u tried any medications? Did they work?  Did you injure yourself? Pulled muscle etc?  See ur md for an exam and possible studies.

Food Intolerances ..: can be very common and appear in some people over time.  Gluten in wheat is the most common offender and dairy is next.  Some people are intolerant to lactose (milk sugar) and/or casein, the milk protein.  If not sure, eliminate all milk and things made from milk for a few weeks and see how you feel.  Eat a balanced diet of natural foods otherwise.  Later try milk once and see if u get sick.

hi, over the past couple of days ive observed that my stool has consistently been dark green. i havent been eating any green food recently, and today ive had some stomach aches. what could be causing this?

Common: The stool color is provided by the bile from the liver that is adds to fecal debris.It starts out a deep green &amp; slowly changes thru greens to yellows to browns as the germs in the intestines metabolize the bile.Green generally means the stool in question moved through faster or was subject to less change by gut germs.

Cool foods: First learn not to eat spicy foods. Zantac (ranitidine) may help as may antacids like tums. Cool foods like cucumbers and pears may also offer some relief. Peppermint oil may also offer some relief as it s great for digestive issues. Homeopathic nux vomica may also be useful.
