Abnormal breathing: Cheyne-stokes respiration is an abnormal breathing pattern where the patient has very deep breathing (sometimes with increased respiratory rate) that gradually slows down until the patient stops breathing, and the cycle repeats (usually over a 30-120 second cycle). Some of the causes include: congestive heart failure, stroke, head injury, and brain tumors.

Irregular breathing: Abnormal breathing pattern marked by progressively deeper & sometimes faster breathing, followed by a gradual decrease that results in temporary stop in breathing. Seen in heart failure, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors; carbon monoxide poisoning; sometimes after morphine is given;  can be seen in healthy people during sleep at high altitude.

can the use of apap (automatic positive airway pressure) for the treatment of sleep apnea cause cheyne stokes respiration as a side effect (for example if the air pressure set by the machine is too high or too low)?

: Cheyne-Stokes respirations does not usually occur as a side effect of APAP-it is usually due to some type of neurological disorder and it does not need to be treated. You should have a sleep study, if you haven;t already, to diagnose your sleep apnea and to determine the correct pressure for you. Then, that pressure can be set for you more precisely. Good luck!

Variable: These may include:  pain, pressure or a tightness in the chest with or without radiation to arm or jaw. Others include shortness of breath, sweats, fatigue, nausea and or vomiting, fast heart rate . Anxiety and a feeling of impending doom to list a few.

See a doctor!: Chest colds last longer then other colds and 7-10 days of symptoms are not unusual.  There should be a sense of getting better.  Pneumonia (bacterial infection in the lung) or asthma (tightening of the lung tubes) are both possibilities.  Any time you have breathing trouble, no matter how long, is a reason to see your doctor asap!

i am suffering from corona my oxygen level is 95 but facing difficulty in breathing. is this is a sign that i will have to go on a ventilator??

: Oxygen level of 95 (I assume breathing room air, not supplemental oxygen) is fine.  No where near needing a ventilator.  However, if oxygen level drops below 90 see a doctor - promptly

Still maybe asthma: I think you should seek medical help immediately. If the inhalers are not working, this is usually not good. It may still be your asthma acting up or something else, you need to be evaluated. If there is no doctor you can reach, head to the emergency room.

is a snoring toddler always a warning sign? or is it sometimes benign? he only snores 50% of the time& i haven't noticed any pauses in breathing.

Depends on situation: We are finding that any kid who snores a lot in sleep prior to age 4-5 will likely develop sleep apnea if it is not present already.Evaluation by an ENT is indicated.

when i smell weed i get a huge headache and i have difficulty breathing. are these signs of being allergic?

May be: The stench of weed can also trigger all those symptoms due to vasovagal and/or emotional responses.
