i have this chest pain that's been going on for three days. at first i thought it was an anxiety attack but it's above my heart, carrying through to my neck and back. should i see a cardiologist?

Chest pain: At your age, this may resolve with rest and decrease of anxiety as much as you can.  If you start having difficulty breathing along with these symptoms, you should consult an urgent care health care provider in your area, first by phone---you may need to be seen in person if breathing difficulty.  But first try rest and relax as most patients in their 20s the cause of these symptoms not cardiac.

: There are many reasons for your symptoms. You need to see a doctor in person. I wonder about pancreatitis, the heart, gastritis

is there a common cause for both nonsustained superventrycular tachycardia and nonsustained ventricular tachycardia in the same patient? symptoms (sharp chest pain piercing straight through to the back) occur after workout. is cardio exercise safe?

: If the heart’s electrical system is not working well from whatever cause both of these arrhythmias are possible. There are many things that could cause this including damage from heart attacks. Only the cardiologist who knows the patient can say if exercise is safe so see your cardiologist. Good luck to you!

my chest has gradually gotten more and more tight and sore through out the day. i have pain that spreads up my neck and down my back when i breathe that is similar to the chest pain. im also having pain when swallowing and burping. ?

Evaluation: Please see your physician, a chest image and PFTs may help to determine the cause. Asthma or chest wall inflammation should be considered. Take Motrin and apply a heating pad. Watch for signs of difficulty breathing.

Emergency Room time?: Having new sharp chest pains is a serious enough for an exam right away. One's doctor can look for a pneumothorax or other chest problem. Inflammation of the linings of the ribs, the lungs, or the heart can also cause chest pain. Evaluation may be done at an ER, where it is easy to get an exam, a chest x-ray, and an EKG plus lab tests to rule out a heart attack (extremely rare in young adults).

Chest pain: Less likely cardiac because cardiac chest pains doesn't come as twinges. It persists and stays most of the time longer than 15 minutes. Still you need to be evaluated by a doctor to make sure. See medical help.

Yes: Stress is a common cause of chest pain. That said, stress can also be related to heart attacks and heart related chest pain so that it still needs to be checked out even if you are under stress.

IDK either, call 911: Chest pain that's described as someone sitting on your chest w/pain going thru to back needs to be evaluated immediately/emergently. Never go online for something like this hoping for someone to answer. Call 911 or your local emergency services. Don't drive b/c you may pass out on way to ER. Unlock front door so they won't have to break it down in case you do pass out. And take full size aspirin.
