Mania: once mania is going it might take more medication than what was required for maintenance to bring someone back down. once the mania resolves then sometimes med doses can come down too. if you are manic/hypomanic then please see your MD asap or present to an ER. there are several psychiatric emergency rooms in the NYC metro area

If any other issues: A woman can ask her Ob-Gyn doctor if there are any other issues needing treatment. Iron helps improve a woman's anemia (increases her blood count) if she is anemic before, during, or after pregnancy. Folic acid helps prevent some birth defects. Neither the iron or folic acid help her become pregnant. Preventive medications may be needed if a woman has HIV or genital herpes.

Anti-depressants: there are many different types of antidepressants, and sometimes these  will help with gastrointestinal symptoms. If you find the Remeron (mirtazapine)  is working but does cause you side effects, contact the prescribing doctor, to see if they recommend switching to a different medication. Good luck.
