Smell: Distortion of smell or presence of odors that others can't smell can occur with certain brain lesions, but the fact that the symptom cleared for a period of time is reassuring even though the symptom recurred. If you're quite disturbed by this symptom, consult an Otolaryngologist for careful examination of your nose and mouth.

Go see your doctor: Talk to your family doctor. Tell her/him what's on your mind. List your medications, prescription & otc. Also any supplements. Get referral to psychiatrist if necessary. At least get counseling so that you know that you're not alone and that there are many people available to help you through this tough time. And get a 2nd even 3rd opinion if necessary if you don't feel fine.
