Many possibilities: It could be any of a large number of things. Get to a dentist or community clinic to get it checked out. In no circumstance should you ignore an area of swelling for several months since early detection is critically important for several possible causes of this.

Burn on cheek: These types of things usually heal on their own rather quickly and without any further problems. Just leave it alone and avoid spicy, hot and acidic foods. If need be, consult with your own dentist.

Sounds like a : Trauma ulcer causing the spot and swelling. Please consult with your dentist soon if it has not resolved in 10 days or so.  Make sure it is not something more serious.

Infection: Can take as long as 48-72 hours for antibiotics to begin reducing spread of infection.  If source I'd SN infected tooth, pills alone will not eliminate infection.  Treatment of the tooth itself will be required.  Sometimes additional or different antibiotic required.  Tell your dentist about your pain and swelling now.

i find it difficult to open my mouth fully as my cheek seems raw next to my upper row of teeth. i can't see at the back of my mouth as my cheek is swollen?

Back of mouth issue: Cheek swelling and mouth pain needs to be explained. This likely involves infection or inflammation in teeth toward the back of mouth, the cheek tissue itself (cellulitis), the gums (gingivitis), or a tooth abscess, among other possibilities.  I would check with your dentist or an oral surgeon.

i had a molar extracted 2 days ago and my mouth is still very sore and cheek is swollen along with redness on the outside of my cheek. is this normal ?

No: Any swelling and pain after two days of an extraction should be looked at. See your treating dentist for follow up.

Infection: You apparently have an abcess/infection.  Medicine will not help.  The only options are extraction of the tooth, or a root canal treatment & correct restoration of the tooth.  Get to a good dentist soon.

Not necessarily: You just may have post operative swelling... But it is impossible to tell over the internet, sight unseen. That's why you need to call your oral surgeon for a follow up appointment. You might have an infection.
