ive had 2 miscarriages in the past, 1 in the 1st trimester the other in the 2nd trimester. im pregnant again and would like to know how i can actively decrease my chances of miscarrying. ?

Miscarriage ?'s: If you are again pregnant, and the previous miscarriages were due to an abnormality in the womb, sometimes additional pregnancies can be successful.  If you miscarry again, get a hysterosalpingogram  (HSG) to see if your womb has  a septum dividing the internal chamber.  At this point, testing cannot be done, as it may be harmful to your present pregnancy.

Twin Pregnancies : The twin miscarriage rate is 17-20% overall, but does become less frequent later in pregnancy. Nevertheless, as you already know, twin pregnancy is a high risk pregnancy, and should be under the close care of your OB provider.

Orgasm contractions: Orgasm causes uterine and vaginal contractions which potentially can initiate labor in the 3rd trimester. However, the bleeding during the 2nd trimester with orgasm and intercourse may be more related to cervical friability than uterine contractions. You need to advise your OB MD of this problem so that can be evaluated and he/she can give accurate advice about future intercourse contacts.

Not if minor: Youre asking a theoretical question. Fetal well being can be checked by ultrasound / biophysical profile if you are worried that a recent exposure to electricity caused any harm.

See your doctor: You need to be seeing a maternal fetal medicine specialist. These are the doctors who specialize in high risk pregnancies. Whether bed rest will help depends in art on what caused the miscarriages. It will not help with preventing ectopics which are usually caused by scarring of the Fallopian tubes. One ectopic does increase the risk of another. Hope this helps.

Cervical swab: 33 you pregnant female desire for clarification.  The cervical swab is safe in pregnancy but it has to be done under direct visualization with the speculum in place. Please avoid blind cervical swab while pregnant.  Good luck.
