how long after conception does your cervix close?

It doesn't clinicall: It doesn't completely close at any time. If you mean how soon after can you "feel" it changing, i'd caution you that's extremely subjective. I'm afraid there's no way you can tell if you conceived by checking yoru cervix.

i was told i have a closed cervix and have to be dilated every 3mo to try and conceive, this was very painful, do i have other options for conception?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely: Cervical stenosis usually improves with cervical dilation. I'm sorry it's painful, a paracervical block usually makes this more comfortable. It's also unusual to have to do this more than once. Consider intrauterine insemination with or without ovulation induction. If it's that painful, maximize your odds and see an rei or an ob/gyn more experienced in these procedures. Good luck to you.

Cysts: Usually those are nabothian cysts(look up on internet explorer) and normal, particularly after  having been pregnant.  Why are you checking your cervix? I cannot think of a good reason why you should.

Usually : Usually with early pregnancy, the cervix softens slightly and has a bluish tint to it.  The cervix doesn't usually change in position in early pregnancy.

polyps appeared on cervix 7wks after conception. was it estrogen that made them grow? were they inside and pregnancy pushed them out? thoughts? obgyn?

Yes & yes: You pretty much know the answers. An increase in size of course makes them more noticeable. Bleeding makes them more noticeable, otherwise, why would you look? They do tend to extrude more in pregnancy because of the above & also because the cervix softens, slightly opens, making it easier for polyps to be seen. It was probably always there, now it's bigger, badder & causing trouble, still ok.

Unchanged: I'm quessing that you mean tilted cervix and are trying to conceive. You can still conceive in any position and do not need to use any particular position. Sperm are very good at swimming and finding their way in if they are in the neighborhood! Hope this helps and you have a beautiful little one soon.

Part of uterus: The cervix is part of the uterus and if the angle of the uterus changes, it can change the position of cervix.

Are you pregnant? : If you are not pregnant then it means nothing. If you are pregnant it still basically means nothing although a midposition cervix  occurs when people are in labor.

Position: The position of your cervix is dependent on your uterus.  As you get older, your uterus may shift in position, and if it rolls forward, it can pull your cervix farther back and up.  This is not unusual.  Reach in deeper, and you should be able to feel it.
