Absolutely: Physical therapy can play amazing roles in stabilizing cervical problems.  Massage and acupuncture can help pain and stiffness, but PT will improve range of motion, strength, and posture.  Excellent choice on your part.

This can be due to : Just the position your head and neck wee in during the imaging or due to degenerative changes that occur over time.  If there is a muscular pain either from a muscle strain, disc herniation or arthritic inflammation - these can cause this imaging appearance.  Spinal stenosis may lead you to have this neck position as well to afford more room in the spinal canal for the nerve tissue.

Loss of normal curve: Our cervical spine (neck) typically is curved with the head and shoulder portions slightly behind the mid neck portion. That is similar to your low back curvature. Both are termed lordosis. It is opposite to the curve of your back at the ribs, called kyphosis.
Loss of lordosis in the neck is usually from spasm, or side view x-rays with your head on too-high a pillow.

LOSS of lordosis..: ..is the problem. A slight curve of the neck (a C facing backwards) is normal; it helps the neck bear the weight of the head. Sometimes this curve becomes straightened, usually as the result of trauma or poor posture causing neck spasm. Long hours working at a desk/computer contribute. Treatment only needed if painful (pain killers/muscle relaxers); PT exercises strengthen/improve posture:)

Many things: Usually decreased  lordosis occurs in the acute phase of muscle injury, so stretch and strengthen for that.   Sometimes, decreased lordosis occurs secondary to intraspinal pathology like spinal stenosis from bulging disk.  This may not get better without fixing the cause with surgery.  Additionally, some folks just have less lordosis then normal and there is not real issue with them at all.
