ER: If it is truly an acute cervical compression of the "cord" due to an acute traumatic compression, and headache is only one of several symptoms (difficulty walking, diff. With coordination, limb numbness, bowel or bladder loss), then go the er.  Have you had an MRI that shows a "protrusion?"  if it is a small protrusion not affecting the cord, then your gp would be more appropriate.

: Translation= your neck is straighter than expected because the muscles are tensed. The process does not show abnormalities, only stiff muscles.

Abutment: is "NEXT TO" , "touching", unlikely to cause harm..  Compression is "pressing on", very likely to cause symptoms although the time frame is not known.

Neck pain: A herniated disc in the neck can cause numbness in the finger and dizziness (imbalance). It is important to obtain an MRI of the neck to determine the extent of the nerve and/or spinal cord compression. I recommend seeing a neurosurgeon or spine specialist to evaluate and treat the symptoms.

Pinched nerve: Sounds like you have a disc or boney compression on a nerve exiting from your cervical spinal canal.  Unlikely to be a tumor or infection.

Yes: History and exam, with perhaps an EMG study performed by an expert could divide out the specific contributions of each entity and maybe point to etiology of the peripheral neuropathy.  This is not rocket science, but maybe you might wish an academic center to sort out for you and recommend treatment.
