Chemicals: The cervix and vaginal area produce mucus when irritated.  This causes a discharge while healing occurs.  The biopsy frequently causes some bleeding and this is stopped by applying a chemical to the cervix.  The blood, or the chemical, or a combination of both can give you a colored discharge.  

If you have fever, pain or other signs of infection, have it checked out.

Sounds normal: The cramping should be getting better, or gone by a week later, and they discharge may linger. The grey discharge may be from the medicine on the biopsy site to stop the bleeding after the biopsy was done.

Infection: Is there any discharge? Foul ordor usually is bacterial involvement. So you should go back to your GYN to get a pelvic exam and we examination.

i am taking doxycycline and had a cervical biopsy almost two weeks ago.  is it normal to still have brown discharge and can the doxycycline contribute?

Two weeks ....: ... is near the outside time limit for seeing bloody discharge after a cervical procedure such as a biopsy.  But it would be safe to watch it ... it should taper off completely within the next week or so.  If not, you should contact your doctor.  I doubt the doxycycline has anything to do with it. Cervical biopsy: The cervix has many small blood vessels, so the bleeding is expected following a biopsy, especially if irritated by sexual relations too soon. Just refrain from sex for another 3-4 days, and it will heal, but you might have some minor spotting or even bleeding, but no harm has been done.

after a recent colposcopy & cervical biopsy i had a huge tissue sac filled with black stuff come out without warning. what caused that?

Need evaluation: Did you save the "sac filled with black stuff"? It may be a blood clot. You did not say if it came out of your vagina or rectum. In any case, you need to be examined to determine if there is a lesion either in your vagina/cervix, or colon. Please consult your doctor.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.
