See below : Mild central canal stenosis is mild narrowing of the canal which contains the spinal cord. This canal is composed of different aspects of the vertebral bodies. Degenerative changes in the intervertebral discs or vertebral bodies themselves can cause narrowing of the canal.  Mild stenosis is usually not symptomatic.

Most likely. my wife: -had similar &amp; epidural steroids bought her some time, about 5 years, but later got worse &amp; had surgery. My brother had it &amp; waited until he had so much muscle weakness, that his result was not good (he=orthopedic surgeon also). Low lumbar stenosis: can be caused by many things, such as disc extrusion (herniation) and spondylolysis (chronic fracture of the posterior bony elements). Disc extrusions can get better or worse, depending on circumstances. Spondylolisthesis typically progresses to a certain point and then stops, but by that point you will have nerve pinching symptoms. Degenerative disc : When there  is degeneration in the  lumbar spine then the ligaments can hypertrophy (enlarge) along with the facet joints and cause narrowing in the spine called stenosis . If it is mainly in the center then it is called central stenosis . Also any  significant central disc  herniation  can also cause central stenosis along with bone spurs.

Ouch!: You're young to have this, unless you're prior military or did a lot of weight-bearing. Get to your ideal body weight. Strengthen core muscles with physical therapy/Pilates. Try oral NSAIDs &amp; consider short oral steroid burst. No opioids/narcotics - more a curse than blessing. Try a TENS unit, acupunture, tilt table, hot/cold packs &amp; last resort facet joint steroid injections/blocks. Hang in there
