Possibly,: was it homemade or commercially processed? Many commercially processed soups contain preservatives and flavoring/coloring agents which you may be sensitive to but not a true allergy. Do some dective work, read the labels carefully and try a good homemade organic recipe.

Unknown: It should not make your tongue numb, but could have some affect on taste.  There is not long term data or studies on e-cig use, tough, so not much is really known on the side effects, or harm in use.  Many medications can affect taste, as well.

No: By "pinched nerve, " I am assuming you mean in the spine. The nerve providing sensation to the face and the multiple nerves that contribute to the tongue come from the skull base, not the spine.

Many possibilities: I can give you some ideas, but a doctor needs to see you and examine you and know more about your history.  Possibilities:  allergy or angioedema;  your tongue might feel swollen (with no true swelling) because of a nerve problem; neurologic issue like stroke, ms; tongue or oral cancer; infection like herpes, etc. If your tongue is swollen enough to affect your speech, get to a doctor immediately!

Sudden change: Sudden neurological change in any body part is concerning for a TIA (mini stroke) or stroke. Could also be inflammation or compression along the nerve at some point, but things that can cause this type of nerve involvement are rare without other significant signs or symptoms.
