Vaginal Abscess: A vaginal abscess needs to be evaluated and treated by a Dr. After a full history and exam (including cultures), your Dr may prescribe antibiotics to kill the bacteria causing the infection. Warm compresses, ibuprofen and loose clothing can alleviate some of the discomfort. Occasionally, the abscess will need surgical drainage. Your Dr can refer you for this if the antibiotics don't cure it.

Abscess: If it has been actually diagnosed as an abscess you need to see a doctor immediately to get it drained then likely take a course of antibiotics. You cannot treat this at home.  It can get worse and spread into your bloodstream.

Bartholins: The two Bartholin's glands lie next to the entrance to the vagina. They make a small amount of mucus-like fluid. This fluid passes down a duct to keep the vagina moist. Don't worry.: Hi Emalou,

Folliculitis is very common where there are large sweat glands and course hair like under the arms and in the groin area.  Bacteria get down in the follicles and begin to grow forming small abscesses.  They often are noticed in various stages of healing.  I believe that this is what you are seeing.  Continue to treat the infection with topical antibiotics or antibiotics by  mouth.

i have these 2 small painful bumps at the bottom of my vaginal opening. hurts to pee, have sex, & sit. someone said it could be from an untreated yeast infection or just an abscess. any home remidies?

Need evaluation.: Since you are having unprotected sex, it could be an STD, like herpes. Or you may have something benign called Bartholin's gland cysts. Please see your doctor.

Possible: In medicine anything is possible however,  i would recommend you see your dr about this issue.  This may need to be drained and antibiotics prescribed.     If not could lead to a much more serious infection.

i had a perianal abscess drained 2 weeks ago and doctor says it looks good, even though its still sore. today, i noticed a boil/ abscess on the outside of my vagina near bikini line but not exactly. not near anus. is this related or a separate issue?

Recurrent infection : A "boil" in the "Bikini line" area is probably not related to the perianal abscess. The area is prone to infection and may simply be a coincidence.  See your gyn physician to make sure there is not another reason (hygiene, type two diabetes, etc.).
