lost 50 lbs not trying been in touch with my doctor seeing her next week.. does this half to b cancer (no one suggested just know it can a symptom) or can there be other causes for this unexplained weight loss?  just anxious..  thank you?

Most feared: While cancer is the most feared cause for unintentional weight loss, there are many other causes that will have to be ruled out, such as malabsorption syndromes, thyroid disease or drugs/ supplements with weight loss as a side effect. You are doing the right thing by seeing your doc.

Lots of things: Please see your doctor about this right away.  The possibilities include some form of chronic disease be it intestinal, thyroid, cancer, depression, etc.  The list is very lengthy and you need an evaluation.

Yes: It depends on your age and dietary  and life style factors, as well your current health condition. Higher the age, risk of cancer is high.

Their blood sugar is high, and they "spill" this sugar into the urine. The weight loss can be attributed to this calorie loss, but also to volume depletion, i.e., dehydration. Most type 2 diabetics present more gradually, and will typically be overweight or obese.

Bowel Ischemia: Consider getting angiogram of the mesentary arterial system. Continuous unexplained weight loss when other causes are ruled out may be due to intermittent ischemic attacks which may not have significant signs or symptoms.  Especially if other vascular risk factors are present, such as cigarettes smoking, family or medical history of vascular insufficiency &amp; advance age. Consult a vascular surgeon.

Not hard and fast: There is no hard and fast rule, but if unintended weight loss is 5% or more of the person's body weight, it warrants an investigation.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.

Weight loss: I wouldn't worry too much about short-term weight loss over the course of one week. It really depends on your diet during the week as well as any fluid shifts or water loss. If this trend continues then you should see your dr. Many people will lose a significant amount of weight when it gets hot but this only represents water loss.
