Lipoma: Most commonly lipoma, benign fatty tumor, are seen under the skin of the rib cage/abdomen. They are mobile, well demarcated with the overlying skin being intact. May get painful, though.

Sometimes: There are many reasons for scoliosis. It is unknown whether muscle imbalance is part of the reason for scoliosis with most adolescents. Muscle imbalance can however cause scoliosis in cases involving cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, tumors, etc. Scoliois can also be due to arthritis and idiopathic (meaning we are unsure of the exact cause).

Possibly: Muscle imbalances can indeed cause scoliosis, but more likely to occur in the setting of a neuromuscular disease (muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, quadriplegia or paraplegia from spinal cord injury, stroke in a young person, multiple sclerosis with paralysis, etc). Existing scoliosis can worsen with certain postures & muscle imbalances.  It should be monitored for worsening.

Depends: This depends on where and how you strained your Left side of your back, and how much pain and muscle spasm you have with the injury. Heat, tens stimulation, massage, rest, and if severe, muscle relaxants and anxiolytics can help the recovery. Make sure you see a sports med ortho doc, rehab doc, chiropractor, PT/OT, acupuncturist, or whatever combination you think will help the most...

Back pain: In a young person is usually of musculoskeletal origin. You may try to return to exercise and avoid painful activities. If the pain still doesn't resolve you may want to seek medical attention for some manual therapy from an osteopathic physician, physical therapist, etc.

Back pain.: It could still be spasms or a back strain.  You don't really have to be active to get one - actually, inactivity could put you at risk for injuring your back simply because you haven't been building up muscle strength.  If some over the counter meds like tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen don't help, a checkout with your doctor is reasonable - especially if you're having any numbness or weakness in your legs.

Pelvic endometriosis: Endometriosis in the pelvis can cause back pain, as those are the  nerve receptors that relay the pain to the back. However, adhesions  in the pelvis from the two C/sections can also produce that same "back pain" You need to see your OB  GYN MD who can determine the true cause after examination. Make an appointment soon.

should a hard lump on inner side of calf muscle be cause for concern? lump is small. recently had a similar hard lump on back of neck. 33 yr old male.

Get examined: Most "lumps" a person finds are benign should be evaluated by a doc at least for piece of mind. Special tests like an MRI or ultimately a biopsy may be in order. They should at least be sized and have a follow exam as well.
