I have left side abdominal swelling, fullness, loss of appetite, pelvic cramping, lighter periods than normal, for a year and a half. i have had many blood tests, ct scan, ultrasound and all came back normal. any recommendations of what i should do?

It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Colon, small bowel can get full, gas, air.
Fluid in abdomen.
Local swelling of soft tissue or hernia are also possible in left abdomen.
Rarely an enlarged kidney or mass can occur.
FIND out by seeing your PCP with full history and good physical exam, and the testing as guided by these factors.

Need to know more  about you . Abdominal bloating or " swelling " may be  result of dietary  probelm, overwight status, constipation, irritble bowel. Most common in young person as you is dietary  - visit your doctor for full exam and consider  diet - free of meat and processed food. More veggies, yoghurtm kefir ( plain natural) and water as main drink. Daily exercise at least 30 min brisk walk

Symptoms in that area are usually caused by gas buildup in the colon which takes a 90 degree turn in the left upper abdomen. Other possibilities include diverticular problems or inflammatory bowel disease in the descending colon and irritable.bowel syndrome. There are many causes for right sided abdominal swelling( abdominal wall muscular related, liver or gallbladder just to name a few). Some females taking bcp;s can develop benign liver tumors . Therefore a visit to a dr can rule out all the bad things , they may order an ultrasound exam or a ct scan if something is there.

If you are vomiting or running fever get checked right away. If you are okay, try a bowel regimen, low fat diet, small frequent meals and more hydration. If not better in a week or so, get checked by your doc.
