Nutrition: For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Not directly: Norethindrone is a synthetic progesterone.  Many hormonal medications can cause hair follicles that are adjacent to each other to become synchronized in their growth and resting phases.  This can cause the appearance of rapid growth and apparent hair "shedding" in local areas.  The hormone does not cause cause hair loss per se.

No harm: Your hemoglobin is normal and so is your ferritin. Taking over the counter iron supplement will not do any harm. Take the pill with food to minimize stomach upset. You may need to take a fiber laxative if you get constipated. The hair loss is not due to iron deficiency.

YES: I would also suggest a full metabolic profile to rule out iron deficiency, folic acid deficiency, and thyroid function, just for starters. Stress, tension, anxiety, mood disorders are other possibilities.

Ppi's: Many medications can cause hair loss,usually not permanently,, but I'm not aware of ppi's causing it. Your pharmacist may have more knowledge about your question and can answer your questions about any of your medications.
