Brain lesion: A focal brain lesion can provoke a series of focal seizures, "simple partial complex", and not unique to see jacksonian march of motor twitching if a growing lesion is present.  Thus, causes include, tumor, stroke, abscess, localized infective parasite, blood vessel malformation, etc.

Could be provoked: The hormonal issues can increase likelihood of seizure activity, but are not the underlying cause.  Therefore, you need to be evaluated for a focal brain lesion, metabolic imbalance, toxins, medication side effects, contact with recreational drugs, vitamin deficiencies, chronic infections, etc.

Depends on:: Do you have epilepsy?  Or you just curious about what happened as an adolescent?  Doubt the flu shot caused the seizure, and certainly if you suffered further seizures, the events would be due to other causes.

: NO!  This has nothing to do with epilepsy.  If you had a seizure, see a neurologist, and get evaluated and treated.  Do NOT drive, do activities at heights, use power equipment, or swim and/or take a bath alone.

had to stop prednisone after  3 days because of suicide ideation and focal seizures. will stopping this suddenly like i did cause  headaches.bp 130/90?

NO: Prednisone raises the blood pressure and can cause headaches.  You will see these symptoms improve after a day or so.  The things you can expect from suddenly stopping are: worsening of the condition for which you were prescribed prednisone, weakness, fatigue, body aches, joint pain,nausea. After only 3 days these withdrawal symptoms will be less severe but you should be sure to let your doctorknow about your decision

can insect bites cause a seizure in an adult? i got bit by lots of mosquitos one bite on lip swole then had my 1st and only seizure (grand mal)

Lots of variables: First, are you allergic to the anticoagulant the mosquito employs?  Second, was the little bugger carrying a viral infection, such as West Nile?  Thirdly, was it a coincidence and your seizure had a different cause?  See a neurologist, and uncover answers.  Likely you need to be taking an anti-epileptic medication.  Also, no driving, activities at heights, using power equipment, etc.

Slleeping pills: Some sleeping pills in strong enough doses can do this. However if no reurrence in 10 yrs, i would put any concerns on the back burner. Do not take same pills again.  4t0 6 %  of children/adolescents can have abnormal eegs. There is a certain eeg pattern which could indicate future risk. More likely eeg non epileptic.

can lamotrigine for focal seizures or apri birth control cause weight gain? ive always been very petite. in the last year and a half, ive gained to my all time high. im 55/56 and now weigh 150. never used to be more than 120. diet/exercise same?

: Lamotrigine is usually weight neutral, and in my experience, has never been associated with significant weight gain.  BCP's, maybe a culprit; ask your gynecologist.  Perhaps eat less, exercise more, and less calories result in lower weight.
