See orthopedist: Extremity nerve compression problems, tendinits or knee problems could cause your symptoms. More likley the burning down the leg could be from sciatica.  Sciatica is due to low back issues such as arthritis or disc herniation compressing the sciatic nerve/branches. If symptoms persist or you develop any weakness/paralysis in your lower extremities then seek attention immediately in an er.

Seek medical eval : Appears that you may be irritating the nerves in your legs with activity. See your Physician to determine the cause

Sciatica: You are describing sciatic nerve pain or sciatica, due to compression of the nerve somewhere as it runs from the spinal cord down the leg.  Spasm or contraction of the piriformis muscle deep in the buttocks, can cause sciatica.  Piriformis syndrome may be causing your symptoms.   See your doctor for specific exercises that can help.

Talk to your doctor: If you have numbness in your hands and feet, do not ignore it. Intermittent or persistent numbness is a common neurological symptom resulting from damage to the nerves. It may be caused by diseases of the nerves themselves or it may be the result of systemic illnesses. These are symptoms that shouldn't be ignored.  Talk with your doctor about what you are experiencing.

Not typically: If you are having an allergic reaction the the Prednisone you may have swelling, redness and possibly itching to the area.  The Prednisone does not usually create numbness and burning in the feet or hands otherwise.  Please see your doctor before this condition spreads.

It sounds: suspiciously like a "neuropathy" (nerve malfunction which has MANY possible causes. I suggest strongly that you not ignore this but see your Primary Care Provider will perform some initial studies and may refer you to a NEUROLOGIST for further diagnosis etc

I would get seen: There can be multiple reasons.One is a neurological reason such as spinal stenosis or Sciatica.Another is a vascular issue.Sometimes Vitamin B12 or folate defienciencies can play a role as well as toxins such as alcholol or chemo.

my lower legs get very itchy at random times. when i scratch them, the skin turns very red, hives apper, and my legs can feel burning. help?

Chronic Urticaria: Although you need to see a doctor for a valid diagnosis, it sounds as if you are suffering from chronic urticaria (hives).  This may be relieved by taking a daily antihistamine such as zyrtec (cetirizine).  Also be sure to use a fragrance-free and dye-free moisturizer regularly to prevent itching due to dry skin.
