Yes you can: If you are physically trained to walk 30 km you can , wear elastic stockings , even better custom made stockings to the thigh level 30 mm hg  pressure.

Burst vein: It is possible that your varicose vein made some small capillary vein fragile and burst open, and curse the discoloration, that the body eventually absorbed the blood and start diminishing in size.

Yes they can.: One of the more common symptoms of venous insufficiency and varicose veins is itching legs.  Some also describe a heaviness of the legs and even restless legs at night.

IT is: called venous insufficiency, too much pressure in your veins blood is going back down your legs instead of returning to your heart. Wear compression stockings, elevate legs as much as possible, see a doctor,  some surgery can be done to the veins.

Possible: If you maintained the position for hours, you might compress the peroneal nerve at the lateral fibular head, which could result in a foot drop, but you would most likely suffer from a genetic syndrome termed "hereditary susceptibility to pressure palsy".  I would doubt that varicose veins would ever be caused by crossing your legs.

Damaged valves: Veins return blood to the heart and lungs for cleaning. Like fish ladders, veins have one way valves inside them every 4 to 6 cm to assist in, return to heart, flow against gravity. If one or more sets of valves becomes damaged, from clots, pressure or trauma the venous blood leaks out into small side veins and slowly develop into varicosities that you can see and feel. Ok to get checked 4 clot.

45y/o f. my sciatic nerve pain has increased over the past few years.  when it flares up the varicose veins in my lower leg and foot bulge immensely and cause extreme pain. is there a correlation between the two?  i never get just sciatic nerve pain?

Bulging Veins.: Varicose veins are bulging grape-like appearing veins which are most commonly seen on the legs.  These are due to leaking(refluxing) valves usually in the saphenous system.  Some causes include hereditary, pregnancy, trauma and aging.  The gold standard of treatment is to have a venous reflux ultrasound to both diagnose and form a treatment plan.  You should see a vein specialist.
