Pharyngeal disorders: Pharyngeal disorders are problems that involve the pharynx which is the food tube comprised of muscle covered with mucosa that goes from the oral cavity to the esophagus.  There is an oropharynx (in the oral cavity), nasopharynx (in the nose), hypopharynx (around the larynx).  It is contiguous and connects to the esophagus inferiorly at the end of the hypopharynx.

Nerve impingement: Of the neck is a very common problem, affecting about 10-12% percent of the adult population in the us. Nerve impingement can be caused by being sandwiched between two spinal bones, pressed by a bulging disc or encroached upon by bony overgrowth. Rec.: see an interventional pain management specialist for further investigation.

Soft tissue injuries: Chronic widespread pain in neck, low back, and arm might be a manifestation of fibromyalgia.  Retrolithesis as result of an acute mechanical injury to the low back or neck is unusual, and if it occurred would be exceedingly painful and potentially surgical. One interpretation of these signs and symptoms is chronic muscle spasms.  Retrolithesis can often be asymptomatic and a "red herring".

i get a sharp tingling pain down one side of my neck after consuming alcohol.  are there any other causes for this apart from hodgkins disease?

Not Hodgkins: Well known that alcohol and smoking are highly associated with oral and throat cancer.  The alcohol in many cases acts as a severe irritant of oral/pharyngeal mucosa.  The throat enters the cervical esophagus when both lateral sides of the oropharynx, the piriform sinuses fuse to form midline esohphagus.  Alcohol running down the lateral pharynx across an area of inflammed mucosa can cause pain

See below: If it is in the back of your neck, it could be osteoarthritis, degenerative disk disease, cervical radiculopathy.  You would need to see your doctor to have an exam and possibly imaging to confirm.  If it present, physical therapy, injections, and medications soemtimes helps.

Wilson's Disease: Wilson's disease or hepatolenticular degeneration is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder in which copper accumulates in tissues; this manifests as neurological or psychiatric symptoms and liver disease. It is treated with medication that reduces copper absorption or removes  excess copper. It may affect the eyes, liver, heart and parathyroids. Not aware of Vit D associated or stiff neck.

are there any neurological disorders that cause really bad headaches bad neck/ back pain. had this since august, and nothing works, no drugs will help?

Chronic daily H.A.'s: Maybe you too have migraine, and your "drugs" have precipitated a more frequent pattern.  There are items which can both stop and prevent headaches, both prescription and otc.  Suggest you seek an experienced neurologist, and get this controlled.  Avoid pain meds of all types, as will just exacerbate your problems.

can a liver disease cause muscle twitching on face and neck?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Liver damage can lead to the buildup of ammonia and other toxic materials in the body.  The toxic materials can damage brain tissue.
That could show up as impaired motor control, spasms, twitches.
But if liver disease is mild it's less likely, but there are many factors that can result in both liver disease AND nerve/muscle abnormalities.  It's worth getting checked out by your doc.
