Unrelated: It's hard to relate any of your symptoms to verapamil/isoptin, but a reasonable test is to temporarily stop it and see if your sx resolve in 2 or 3 days. If so, do they promptly return if you restart it? That would make causation highly probable. If not, I would look for another cause.

Drug/Lab monitor: Routine or regular  TSH levels are required to monitor thyroid hormone supplement therapy. Normal TSH levels can rule out Grave's disease. Abnormal thyroid hormone levels may cause mood and behavioral changes besides physical.  Routine blood electrolyte level are also required to monitor antidepressant, antihypertensive and antieplilpetic which may cause electrolyte imbalance and mood changes.

Indoor allergens: There is little that pollinates in the winter. If you are in the south you may experience mountain cedar pollinating then, but in the north there isn't really anything. So allergies in the winter tend to be caused by indoor allergens (pets, etc), or are not allergies but upper respiratory infections, or irritant responses to pollution, response to cold/dry air, etc.

Other less common indoor allergens are mold, cockroach, other pets (birds, rodents), and feathers (pillows, comforters).   During tree, grass or weed pollen season, pollen may blow through screens or open doors or windows, making it seem like indoor allergens.  An allergist can perform skin tests for these and have an answer in 20 min.
