i am on irbesartan and recently been having post nasal drip probably due to allergies. i had been nauseaus and gaggy and have reflux. can i take tums?

Not avapro (irbesartan): I can tell you, it's not avapro (irbesartan). But to convince yourself, try stopping it for 2 weeks. If you're better, restart it. If the symptoms come right back, you have evidence that it is avapro (irbesartan).  (this procedure is standard operating procedure for determining a drug adverse reaction).

Usually not: Muscle pain not likely to come from beta blockers (atenolol) or arbs (avapro).
However, they are not uncommon with another frequently given medications: statins (to reduce cholesterol).

: Nausea is listed as an uncommon side effect of valsartan by drugs.com but it is a more common side effect of irbesartan so I suggest you continue with valsartan and likely you will develop tolerance or you can take it with breakfast as a trial. Mildly high cholesterol has nothing to do with your symptom. You should reduce foods with high cholesterol.
