i believe i have pompholyx or dyshidrotic eczema (dyshidrotic dermatitis), probably the latter. how can i treat this?

Short courses of oral steroids are the second line of treatment for acute flares, and other immunosuppressants have also been tried. Corticosteroids are cornerstones of topical therapy. Guidelines have been established by the national institute of clinical evidence.

i have dyshidrotic dermatitis for more than 15 years. steroids only lessens flare ups. no steroids, they come back. what do i do?

Different Treatment: You have a chronic condition-you need a treatment that can be used long term.  Ultraviolet light treatment or a different oral immune suppressing medicine are possible options.

Dyshidrosis: Contact dermatitis may  occur anywhere in the bodt . Dyshiderosis is usually limited to the hands or feet. The rash is initially blistery whereas contact dermatitis may be red , scaly and itchy.

Probably not ...: Dyshidrotic Eczema, sometimes called Pomphoylx is an itchy skin condition of the hands and feet, characterised by vesicles, fluid filled bubbles.  Causes are unclear and probably multfactorial; genetic predisposition (can run in families); triggered by stress, sweating, humdity or irritants; associated with contact allergy such as nickel. No clear association to Agent Orange exposure.

Allergic: It is almost always an allergic condition. More frequently it is something your hands are coming in contact with. Less frequently it is something you are ingesting. It is worth the time and effort to see an allergist to try and identify possible culprits, especially if you are having the ongoing symptoms you describe. Also get dermatologist involved if one not involved already.

When fingertips wrinkled slather on thick layer of eczema cream mixed with 1% hydrocortisone and then place your hands into cotton beauty gloves (cosmetic section most stores) overnight. Get gold bond lotion hand sanituzer as it doesn't have alcohol for work.

Allergies: The cause of dyshidrotic eczema is unknown. However, it can be associated with a skin disorder called atopic dermatitis, and seasonal allergies. You may help prevent the condition by managing allergies, stress and avoiding exposure to metal salts, such as cobalt and nickel. You can apply OTC topical corticosteroids, see a Dr for phototherapy, botox injections and immune suppressing ointment.

Blood: You likely have a small amount of blood inside the blister which should come off once the eczema heels during the current episode. The blood likely occurred from scratching or irritation or trauma.
