Need good exam: Si doesn't cause electrical shocks just dull ache that occasionally radiates to the groin, piriformis syndrome may, but the most common reason is lumbar disk disease. See your physician.

Not sure: Pain in the areas listed are common and difficuilt to pinpoint as to cause. Muscles, tendons, joints, disks have all been 'blamed' for such symptoms. Overuse, inflammation, trauma, stress can all be potential sources. If you are not improving with time, exercise, over the counter medication, see your primary doctor or a spinal doctor.

Yes: The neuropathy pain down the arms and the neck region can all be from the disc issues.   Try some physical therapy.  Will make the area stronger and more flexible.   Hopefully take away the pain as well

Spinal stenosis: Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the nerve canal and can cause numbness in the legs and difficulty with standing or walking for an extended period of time.  The buckling of the ligamentum flavum is one of the conditions that leads to the spinal stenosis.  Good question.

Perhaps: Bulging discs in and of themselves do not cause neuropathic or myalgic symptoms unless they compress specific nerves and/or central nervous system structures.  If you already had an MRI, presumably that was ordered by your physician to help assess these symptoms, and having a discussion regarding the results would be appropriate.

Aging, injury: Disc bulges are normal variants & not an issue that should cause a problem. This occurs with disc loading as well.  A disc herniation is an actual disruption of the disc's coating layers allowing disc material to move out of a normal position. This is a more frequent finding as we age as the disc degenerates which is accelerated by obesity & smoking. Overloading a disc's weight capacity=herniation.

MRI: The best test to evaluate the disks of the spine is an MRI of the cervical (neck) thoracic (mid back) or lumbar (low back) spine.  Your gp can order the appropriate study and make referral to a specialist as needed.
