URI: The blood in throat is unusual, but everything else sounds like a bad case of pharyngitis, URI, mono, flu, etc.  Perhaps tonsils are so enflamed and swollen that coughing violently caused them to bleed?  I recommend going to urgent care for exam.

Yes: Usually a ceiling fan will do two things.One is we tend to mouth breath and that drys out throat.Also dust gets on top and ceiling fans throw this down aggravating allergies and the drainage aggravates the throat.Clean them every 2 weeks.

Sore throat: A sore throat has many potential causes -- infectious (viral or bacterial), post nasal drip/allergies, gastroesophageal or laryngopharyngeal reflux, ulceration, or in rare cases, cancer.  Chronic sore throat is best evaluated by your primary care doctor in conjunction with an ear, nose, and throat specialist.

Next step is a: CT and/or ENT (ear nose throat) consultation.  At your age the most common things are tonsil/ adenoids enlargement, thymoma,  laryngeal polyp and thrush (fungal infection). Viral infection: 90 % of cases its a viral infection, especially in this flu season. It could be also a steptococcal pharyngitis if you have fever or white patches on the tonsils. Infectious mononucleosis is a another viral inf. Which is a possibility. If the symptoms stay for 5-7 days and resolve it is most likely a viral inf and don't be hesitant in taking an antibiotic before that. Talk to your family doctor

Flu as a cause of throat pain may cluster in nov-feb but occurs worldwide all year long. Strep throat is present continuously.
