Accepted Answer

Not the fast: A 3 day juice fast would not cause jaundice. If you are actually jaundiced you need to be evaluated for biliary tract disease or primary liver disorder. Call you doctor, don't drink alcohol, and avoid Acetaminophen (tylenol).Good luck.

Accepted Answer

NO: Certain vegetables: carrots , squashes, or lots of oranges can cause a condition called hypercarotenemia:P an orange discoloration of face or nose: this is benign and not related to jaundice. Ornages will not cause jaundice.

Anemia?: Sometimes anemic people can look yellow.  You should get two laboratory tests: a bilirubin and a complete blood count (or a hemoglobin/hematocrit).  If the bilirubin is normal, you're not jaundiced. The complete blood count will tell you whether you're anemic.

: Enough intake of yellow vegies will turn their skin yellow, sparing the white of the eyes. Jaundice from any cause should show in the white of the eyes. Your doc can see or test to confirm.

Not really : Juices concentrate sugar.  However vegetable juices are generally lower sugar than fruit juices.  Much better from a healthy diet point of view to be eating the unprocessed forms of vegetables

Likely: Yes that much carrot juice could turn your stool orange and also give a bit of orange color to your skin.  If you enjoy your carrot juice there is nothing wrong with that.

Any healthy diet: It is only true in the sense that a healthy diet improves your immune system and that a healthy immune system decreases the incidence of cancer.  This is true of a healthy diet in any form.  It is not specifically protective against cancer or other diseases, except that a source of vitamin A (carrots) benefits eye and hair health.

Accepted Answer

No: Most "nutritional advice" (even the stuff from retrospective studies) is best ignored. In fact, there's a big study on smokers and the more vitamin a they had in their diet, the more cancer they got. Forget the nonsense about carrot juice, and do yourself and those you love (including your future family) by stopping smoking now, by whatever means.
