Anger: often raises blood pressure and makes the heart beat faster or stronger.  The warmth of the blood flow is likely what you are experiencing.  There is constructive use of anger or the alternate.  Keep choosing constructive and it can help you rather than make things worse.

im on 20 mg zyprexa. i dont get hungry all day. but i do get hungry at 12 am. why is this?

Hard to say: Zyprexia commonly causes increased appetite, may be midnight because nothing elseis going on to distract you like could be easier during the day. Could be timeing of the dose and could speak to prescriber about changeing time.  Excessive an appetite and wt gain is a common serious pbm with  zyprexia, other similar meds are often easier to tolerate , but do also often have wt gain SE as well

: According to my readings, in very special psychiatric disorders doses up to 80 mgs have been used.   20 to 60 mgs/day Is really considered a high dose in serious psychiatric disorders.

A Few Tips: Here are a few "tips" that i find helpful when a patient of mine struggles with the sedating side effect of zyprexa (generic olanzapine). If you have just started treatment be patient and the sedation may resolve on its own.  Try different dosing times to see if the sedation can occur while asleep.  Split the dose taking half in am & half in pm. Always check with your md before making any changes.

Talk w/ your doctor!: There is likely a good reason these medications were prescribed for you. It is not a good idea to stop these on your own in that case. If you have a problem with either medication specifically, speak with the doctor who prescribed them and there may be reasonable alternatives to try.

No euphoria.: Antipsychotics don't make you euphoric like cocaine or heroin or ecstasy. If your dose is too high, they can make you "drugged," -- sleepy, slurrred speech, imbalance. If you feel good, then it's because it has managed or treated a state which has been making you feel bad. And this is common, in fact, is really the point.

do i need to taper off zyprexa or can i stop it all together at once. i seem to not get withdrawal from zyprexa but after one week i felt withdrawal?
