i've just taken the morning after pill that contains 0.75mg levonorgestrel. i have a 2 and half month old that is exclusively breastfed. she does not drink formula and needs milk. will breastfeeding her harm her?

Usually not: Emergency contraceptive taken once during breastfeeding will not harm your baby. Most common side effects is a reduction in milk production which lasts 1-3 days. Do not use emergency contraceptives regularly while breastfeeding. Use IUD, mini-pill, or barrier methods.

i just had a baby 2 months ago and im loosing a lot of weight.  what can i do to gain weight while breastfeeding? i tried eating more calories per day but it don't work.ppcan i take any pills or shakes to gain weight if im breastfeeding? please help i wan

You : You need to increase your overall calorie count and the protein you are taking.  I would not recommend pills or special shakes as the ingredients might not be approved for breastfeeding.  Regular milkshakes would be fine.  Try to increase the amount of red meat, dairy products, and healthy foods in your diet.  If your weight continues to decrease please have a medical evaluation to be sure you don't have a condition that is causing your weight loss.

i was prescribed bindoclav and painkillers for my tooth infection 2 days ago and i was supposed to take 1 pill 3 times a day, but i have been taking 2 by mistake. will it harm me? im breastfeeding too

Bindoclav : Although Bindoclav is relatively safe in breast milk there could be side effects related to this medication which include nausea ,other gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrheal disease as well as thrush and at increased dosages these symptoms are more prevalent .
Potentially some of those side effects could be passed over to baby so therefore you should be vigilant in this regard.

i am breastfeeding, got microval prescription.it says i have to start taking the pill 1st day of my period. is it safe to take before my periods ?

If not pregnant : You can take a pregnancy test. If the test is negative then you may start your birth control

Drugs & breastfeedin: Please be careful about taking any medications when breastfeeding as most of them are secreted into breast milk and can adversely affect your baby. Please consult your OB or the baby's pediatrician before you take that appetite pill to confirm its safety for the baby. Hope that helps.

No problem: I see no problem with taking collagen during breastfeeding.The body will process likae any other source of protein.Baby may get some of it too.

Possibly: The "official" literature for Plan B states that the safety of the medication during breastfeeding is unknown for the breastfeeding infant.  It is likely that some of the medication is found in breast milk so the infant will likely have ingested some during breastfeeding if Plan B is taken.

No: Diane 35 contains an anti-androgen and an estrogen. It is used for birth control and for acne treatment.  It is not safe to use while breastfeeding.

Be careful: Green tea itself may be safe in small amounts but pill formulations contain combinations of substances & you would have to study each formulation to determine what the ingredients may do. 
Green tea (camellia sinensis) contains caffeine, polyphenols, & tannins. Fussiness, jitteriness & poor sleep patterns have been reported in the infants of mothers with very high caffeine intakes.
