i've finished my two weeks course of doxycycline 100mg which i had to take two twice a day 12hours apart i had my last tablet on friday the 24th at 9.50 in morning and it's now saturday the 26th june can i drink coffee now?

: You can now (and could have over the past 2 weeks) consumed coffee. No chemical interaction. Doxycycline may upset your stomach. Coffee may upset your stomach. The 2 together may really upset your stomach. If it does, avoid. If it doesn’t, go right ahead

Sounds ok: If a person previously drank coffee or tea without problems, and previously took doxycycline or other tetracycline antibiotics without problems, then he should be fine taking doxycycline before, during, or after tea or coffee. These drinks don't cause notable interactions with doxycycline.

Fine: There isn’t a significant interaction between doxy and most caffeinated beverages. Some of the alternative medication/teas may interact but not the ones you mention.

Sure, probably: Both caffeine and doxycycline can cause gastrointestinal irritation, e.g. acid symptoms or nausea, which might be worse if the two are taken together. If that happens, just don&#x27;t have coffee of the antibiotic within an hour of each other. Beyond that, no worries at all.

: Any time; you can take the doxycycline with your coffee. (In theory, doxy should not be taken with dairy products. However, the amount of cream or milk in a cup of coffee is unlikely to interfere. Or if worried, take your coffee black.)

currently im taking doxycycline for my acne problem but i love to drink coffee during my breakfast. i want to ask how long (time limit) do i need to wait to drink my coffee after taking the doxycycline?

: Dairy products are the main food problem with doxycycline. If you drink your coffee black, there is no need to wait at all. If you use cream, and especially if lots of milk or cream (latte, cappuccino, etc), take it an hour before or after the coffee.

i am taking doxycyline 100mg for sti and drank 2 cups of coffee an hour after taking my first dose. i drank another cup of coffee the next morning an hour after my 3rd dose and found out online that caffiene may affect the medication. is this true?

: It is more that caffeine can irritate your stomach and so can doxycycline because both of them are very acidic. Therefore some people need to avoid caffeine because they cannot tolerate taking both of them.
