Sounds ok: If a person previously drank coffee or tea without problems, and previously took doxycycline or other tetracycline antibiotics without problems, then he should be fine taking doxycycline before, during, or after tea or coffee. These drinks don't cause notable interactions with doxycycline.

Black coffee: Black coffee or tea with no dairy added is ok. The main concern is that calcium present in dairy will bind to the doxycycline and reduce absorption.
