hello. i was wondering if its safe for my 6 year old to take azithromycin, dimetapp night time, and childrens tylenol together?

Probably safe but...: Dimetapp or other over-the-counter cough-cold medications are not recommended for younger children nowadays. Such meds were used very often in the past. That said, using small amounts under the guidance of one's own pediatrician should be safe to do. Taking the 3 medications in the correct doses, for no longer than the number of days recommended by one's doctor, should be safe.

: Yes.  Azithromycin and sulfa antimicrobials are not chemically related.

DO NOT: Who advised you to do that.  for a chlamydial infection you need 1gram once.. That's it.  Remember that by taking antibiotics unnecessarily you increase its resistance to other diseases hence treatment of other disease could become difficult.  If you are taking a Zpak then please take it for the 5 days.  Only what your doctor prescribes.

: As long as your daughter has well-controlled epilepsy and does NOT miss her medications, she should be capable of benefiting from OTC symptomatic relievers, without exacerbation of seizures.

OK, 10 days: Azithromycin persists inside the body's cells for around 10 days after the last dose. It's OK to take both azithro and fiber supplements like Metamucil.

Chlamydia: That should have taken care of the infection from chlamydia. Not sure what the bleeding is about. Blood is not normal for chlamydia.

Trachoma: Azothromycin given as a single dose is usually the treatment, dosing differ according to age, it doesn't instantly cure trachoma, and it would take few days for symptoms to subside, depending on severity of disease , at times other medications may be needed for extended periods (weeks). More important is preventing recurrence, so observing environmental measures / treating family members too

took azithromycin first dose 500mg, couldn't take the rest. was prescribed for a sinus issue. when will it be out of my system?

Azithromycin: has a very long "half life" thus it will gradually decrease to half in 68 hours then half of that in another 68 hours. WHY are you asking?? You have not had enough to treat your sinus condition BUT you can start a new antibiotic NOW without waiting for the Azithromycin to "leave completely"!

Yes, no problem: You can take the second dose several hours early, no problem. Then continue one dose daily. Azithromycin is very long acting; each dose is in your system for a week or more. Take it once a day but don&#x27;t worry about timing. It needn&#x27;t be the same time every day -- although a regular time is still a good idea if it helps you to remember to take it.
