Temp: Could be the flu or a GI bug.  See your primary care doc soon and drink those hot fluids...

Virus but: Depends on the duration. If these symptoms have b een present for less than 10 days and are getting better, then they are likely from a cold virus.  If the symptoms have been present for more than 10 days and are getting worse, then you likely have a bacterial sinusitis.

Yes: According to the World Health Organization – Ebola can be spread through body fluids such as sweat, blood, saliva, urine and stool.

why do patients with some viruses have night sweats?

Accepted Answer

Not only viruses: Night sweats are the body's way of reducing fever, and when you have fever due to infections, in some instances it is an intermittent process, and since your normal diurnal curve has its lowest body temp in the wee hours of the morning, the sweats occur at night prior to the diminished temperature.

i had a virus with a fever but have been better for a day. i am still waking up drenched in sweat. is this normal?

Night sweats: No, this isn't "normal" -- but it still is probably just the effect of your viral infection. Drenching night sweats usually mean continuing fever that breaks during the night. But if this continues a few more days, discuss with your doctor. Maybe you have some other kind of infection rather than the virus, or in addition to it. Good luck!

there a risk of transmission? can sweat carry the virus?

No risk, but...: Hepatitis B and other blood borne infections cannot be transmitted by massage or through sweat. However, all people should be immuniized against hep B. See your doctor and ask for the vaccine. But no worries from this exposure.

Mexico and symptoms: How long? And where at--jungle, hotel, where. If persistent, any suspicion of bacterial or parasite should have tests of blood, stool, urine. And a complete exam.

Perimenopause?: Several possible causes, but at age 44 impending menopause would be near the top of the list. You need evaluation, a minimim of some focused blood testing, to say for sure. The hpv isn't a factor.
