Hopefully pregnant: With the help of prometrium (micronized progesterone) you will hopefully achieve pregnancy. A pregnancy test around the time of your anticipated period will tell. Do the test even though you may start your period. If the test is negative, stop the prometrium (micronized progesterone). If the test is negative and there is no menses, then repeat the test in another week, and stop the prometrium (micronized progesterone), if the second test comes back negative.

: Prometrium or any progesterone analog is a statistically successful contraceptive, and Nexplanon implants or the "minipill" (containing NO estrogen) may be a good compromise for birth control w/o using oral BCP's.  The pregnancy rate is only slightly less than oral contraceptive pills with estrogen/progesterone components.

: It is difficult to use "ovulation phase" of a menstrual cycle with documented "PCOS", as ovulation is usually absent.    Prometrium 200mg for 5 days and then stopping will usually precipitate bleeding from degenerating endometrial tissue, which can assist in   prevention of cytologic changes in endometrium which precede endometrial cancer.  Consult your GYN for appropriate intervals.

If this month is the first time you take it, it could be an adverse effect or an early period, hard to tell. You just have to observe the bleeding for now, assume it is a breakthrough period. If bleeding seems not consistent with a normal period, you should consult your GYN.

Are you in menopause, and is this being given to you along with estrogen? If you know enough to speak about the thickness of your lining. Clearly you are seeing a doctor who is doing ultrasounds. I would like to help, but am a bit confused.

Prometrium (micronized progesterone): Prometrium (micronized progesterone) only thins a lining if it is taken in high daily doses for a very prolonged period of time. When taken for, say, 10-14 days it can thicken a lining. Once stopped, if not pregnant, the lining breaks down and sheds/bleeds. I hope this helps...
