UTI, inflammation: Having these symptoms may occur from several causes. Of course, a urinary tract infection should be ruled out or urinary retention. Once obstruction and infection has been ruled out, medications can aid in alleviating these symptoms. Malodorous urine by itself is not diagnostic of a UTI and therefore these symptoms need further evaluation.

If you have two or more culture positive infections in a six month period, you should see a urologist.

Usually not: Trace leukocytes can be normal. However, if you are having symptoms your doctor needs to send the urine for a culture to make sure there is no infection. Have your urine retested and if it looks negative again ask for a urine culture to be done.

Not sure what: Clear tissue may mean, but it is time to get a urne analysis and some blood work, and then decision about imaging or cystoscopy. You did not say if it was the kidney, its pelvis or ureter that was cancer. I would definitely call or visit your urologist.

See previous reply: You have been fully evaluated, so i don't think you need any further work up than a urinalysis with microscopy in 3 months. You should be ok to deploy.

hello, my 5 year old son is on trimethoprim for a suspected bladder infection. he had cloudy urine and pain at the very end of urination. 3 days into meds and pain is still the same but urine is clear. if not a uti, what else could it be? thank you ?

Urinalysis and: Urine culture + sensitivities.Positive urine nitrite test for bacteria +/or leucocyte esterase white blood cells confirmed by microscopy will demonstrate a urinary infection.Urine culture will grow any any bacteria present and sensitivities will demonstrate which antibiotics will be effective.Pure bacterial colony count of >100, 000/ml on clean void culture indicates a uti, <100, 000 on cath. Spec.
