Yes: All you need for exposure is contact with the virus.This can be left transiently on surfaces like door handles, doors, etc. That you touch as part of your normal day. Adults randomly touch their face, nose or mouth a few times every hour and this can transfer the germ to a point where it can enter your system. Frequent hand washing helps avoid this mode of exposure.

Unlikely: People are most contagious in the first weeks of mono but their infectivity drops by a month or so for most. However, this is from a family of viruses well known to hibernate &amp; reappear.She could shed virus off and on.The other issue is your own susceptibility.Many have this as an undiagnosed "viral" illness as kids and become immune. So your risk is small but there unknown factors at play.

Nothing : We are exposed everyday, the virus is ubiquitous, and most of us developed antibodies against it. Developing the disease itself depends on several factors, and not necessarily every exposure would result in a disease, good luck

Mononucleosis: Mononucleosis is incredibly common and exceptionally easily transmitted from person to person regardless of whether or not they appear "clean" and asymptomatic.  Thus, any time you have mouth to mouth contact with another person you have a significant opportunity to contract mononucleosis as well as many other orally/mucosal surface transmitted diseases.

Yes: Many people will get this in childhood as a simple flu like illness and never be sick enough to seek care. If an adult is not immune, they can get it and usually have a more intense experience with it. Often they can be quite ill for up to 3 weeks and a few are ill for 3 months.

Once : Once a patient has had mono, they will always test positive for the virus.  In general, patients only get true mono one time, but if the patient is very "run-down", or susceptible from physical stressors, the virus can re-activate and cause mono symptoms and can also be contagious again.

Mono: Mono is a virus like so many others you or your child may get. The classic image of mono as the " kissing disease" is simply not true- children of any age can get mono. My own daughter got it at 4 years.

Maybe: The majority of adults have mono in childhood and are immune. For those that are not, the illness is harsh. The contagious period begins days before the first symptoms and lasts 3 weeks in most, longer in some.You can be supportive,but less intimate, and might avoid it.Yet you are likely incubating it already if  susceptible. I'd probably take my chances unless I wanted an excuse to take off.

Depends: The main cause of mono, the eb virus will confer lifelong immunity. Many have this infection in childhood and will never have this as adults.If the adult missed it during childhood, it could certainly spread to them if exposed.

It's possible.: Infectious mononucleosis (aka "mono") is indeed contagious as suggested by the name. Commonly referred to as "kissing disease", this viral infection is typically passed along by oral secretions (i.e. Saliva); so, certainly sharing a bottle would be a possible vehicle for transfer of saliva--much like kissing! please exercise caution with thorough cleansing of eating utensils used by those infected.
